Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

Keeping me company as I cross the country

We have been living full time van life for over two years, and the past year with our newborn son, and this podcast makes the miles we travel slip by. Especially now as I travel halfway across the country solo to meet my wife and son.

Great podcast

Love the podcast, love the conversations, have listened to all episodes. You get to hear the story behind the star/scientist/author/etc, which is cool.

The missing star is because there is minimal conversations about a person’s life story if they didn’t have an eventful childhood/youth (read addiction/abuse/trauma/divorced parents).
Some of the “fact check” conversions recently are pointless arguments that go in circles, just arguing for the sake of arguing.
Please stop the jokes about Monica’s grandmother.

Amazing

I love how deep in convo they get. Very interesting to listen to and nice that the guests are able to open up. Dax and Monica must make that easy for everyone to be able to do that. 100% recommend.
