Battling the Bear River of Life - Cold Spring

    • Religion & Spirituality

This week, we kick off a new series on marriage. The key to a long lasting marriage is to make love... a verb— something you choose to do, not something you obtain. How can you protect your marriage? 1.) Stay Alert!"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." -1 Peter 5:8 NIVToo many people are idealistic and not realistic. If you aren’t happy now, you won’t be happy when you get married.2.) Stay Together!"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." -Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIVDifficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.3.) Stay Equipped!"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."—2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV
