    Episode 46 - From Police Sergeant to energy work and coaching

    In this episode Abbie shares her story of losing her mom and her sister, her dream career in the police and when it all changed for her. Abbie is a former UK police sergeant - serving six years  She was incredibly passionate about her work and was promoted within three years, but fell seriously ill a year later from stress, burnout and trauma caused by events in personal and professional life. On her road to recovery, she discovered a completely different approach to healing than the one that was taught in the police - working with the body/somatics and the nervous system This became her new passion and two years later, she walked away from what was once her dream job to run her own coaching business - guiding frontline workers to become more resilient to stress and burnout using the same modalities that once supported her.     Episode 45 - The Aternative Divorce Company - A new beginning for the end of a marriage.

    Glynis shares her personal story from childhood, what propelled her into law in her 40s and how you are NEVER too old to do something new! You are in for a treat my friends. Until March 2023, Dr Glynis Wright was one of Leicester’s most renowned and respected senior divorce lawyers. After that, she left the legal profession to become a specialist divorce coach. Dr Glynis Wright had entered law later in life. She recognised quickly that divorce and breakup were areas requiring a specialist approach, so she set up her own bespoke family law firm in 2010. The firm, Glynis Wright & Co, grew into one of the most well-known multi award-winning specialist family law services in the area. In 2020, Dr Glynis sold her law firm to Nelsons LLP where she continued to lead her team of family lawyers until leaving Nelsons in March 2023. Over the next year, Dr Glynis trained as a certified divorce coach offering specialist coaching to individuals and couples to help them cope with the emotional rollercoaster of breakup and to achieve an amicable divorce. She launched The Alternative Divorce Company on 1 May 2024 which offers a bespoke service straddling many areas of expertise from coaching to family law and the therapeutic through Dr Glynis and the ADC affiliates. With respect to her personal achievements, Dr Glynis was elected President of the Leicestershire Law Society serving from 2019 to 2020. She was awarded an honorary life-time membership of the Law Society for her dedication to the profession over many years. In 2020, Dr Glynis was named in the Queen’s New Year Honours List and received an MBE from Princess Anne. In July 2023, Dr Glynis was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from the University of Leicester in recognition of her services to law and business and in February 2024, Dr Glynis received the Freedom of the City of London. Dr Glynis serves on the Advisory Board for the Faculties of Business and Law at De Montfort University having been its Chair for the past 3 years and she is an Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Leicester Business School. She is also a freeman of the Company of Entrepreneurs in London where she gives her pro bono time to outreach activities and mentoring young entrepreneurs.
