I am a traveler, cyclist, expat and teacher with over 15 years experience living abroad in six different countries. As a passionate cyclist I have seen the world by bike and has toured in some truly amazing places, such as Sweden, Germany, Japan, most of SE Asia and of course Canada.
During that time, I have traveled to over 40+ countries and met countless travelers, cyclists, and other expats. While traveling by bike, I decided that I wanted to connect the touring and bikepacking community together and this became the catalyst of the Bike Tour Adventures podcast where I share my guests fascinating stories and helps listeners learn tips, tricks, and techniques to improve their touring and bikepacking experience.
As it's not possible to always bike tour, I have recently dove headfirst into the bikepacking world with the intent of getting out into nature and spending as much time on my bike as possible. This has re-ignited my passion around bikes and has opened up the podcast to so many more possibilities with interviews of traditional bike tourers, bikepackers, endurance athletes and more.
I hope you enjoy the show.
Keep on pedalling!

Ridecast | Canadian Shield 400
In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures Podcast, I record a Ridecast taking the listener through my Grand Depart FKT on the Canadian Shield 400 bikepacking route. This route takes the rider through the Outaouais and the Lower Laurentian Mountains in Western Quebec. With approximately 6300 metres of elevation gain, this route is about as hard as it gets in the region for a 400km route. Mix in roughly 120km of trails and you've got yourself a magical experience.

Jonathan B. Roy | Stories of Sleeping Outside
In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures Podcast, I have the chance to speak with Jonathan Roy about his 3 year adventure bike touring the world. Jonathan left his practice as a lawyer to follow a passion for bikes, which ultimately brought him home when COVID closed off the majority of the world and make it too difficult to keep going. This gave Jonathan an opportunity to write a book, sharing his adventures from the saddle.

Salty Beard Bikepacking | Caves and Coves Bikepacking TT
In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures podcast, I connect with Robert Biron, also known as, Salty Beard Bikepacking. Rob has been a lifeline cyclist, being involved in mountain biking in its infancy, racing, commuting, randonneuring and more recently, bikepacking. Over the past few years, Rob has started a YouTube page to share his bikepacking adventures, and has quickly grown a sizeable viewership, as a result of his personality and the authenticity in which his videos are made. More recently, Rob has curated a bikepacking route across, over and around northern Vancouver Island. Throughout this conversation, we touch on lots of different aspects of our lives and involvement in the bikepacking community. I hope you enjoy.

Jim & Mary Boate | Octogenarian and still bike touring
In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures podcast, I have the chance to catch up with Jim and Mary Boate. I first met Jim and Mary while out for a bike ride in the Gatineau Park in the fall of 2022. After a quick chat that lasted until the turn-off to Mackenzie King Estates, I was certain that I wanted to get them on the podcast at some point to share their journey.
Routes Discussed:
The Greenbelt Route
G2G Rail Trail (Guelph to Goderich)
The Waterfront Trail

Matt Kadey | Great Northern Bikepacking Route
In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures podcast, I have Matt Kadey on the show to talk about the Great Northern Bikepacking Route. Matt had previously need on the podcast in January 2022, so I would highly encourage you to skip back to Episode 122 if you haven't yet listened to it. In that episode we talk a lot more about bikepacking in Ontario and about his motivations towards route development and creation. In this episode we mostly focus on the GNBR, which, once completely tested and finalized, will most likely be the world's longest bikepacking route, coming in at nearly 15,000km.

Ridecast | Canadian Shield XL: Planning and Pulling the Plug
In this episode of the Bikepack Adventures podcast, I take a little time to record a solo episode where I talk through my recent attempt on the Canadian Shield XL, a 1200km adventure that takes the rider through a large swath of Western Quebec, from the Ouareau Forest to the north of Montreal, all the way up to Mont Laurier in the north, Otter Lake in the West and Chelsea, Quebec in the South. With an elevation gain of approximately 16,000m, but more realistically closer to 20,000m, this route incorporates as much singletrack and forest roads as possible, while also giving opportunities to rest while crushing some rail trail.

Great Local Resource
I am enjoying these podcasts immensely. Chris is very knowledgeable and authentic. It is clear that he is doing this out of love for the sport. It is great that he is discussing the local bikepack/touring scene as well as the international scene. I am learning alot. Thank you Chris.

This is my favourite podcast. I’m working my way through past episodes and I’ve enjoyed every single one so far. Super interesting guests, host asks the relevant questions to keep on interesting topics. Can’t recommend more highly. Next on my to do list - send a few bucks the way of the host.
