007| Reframing Old Beliefs Around Body Image to Reclaim Your Sense of Self-Worth with Elaine Scudds Bloom Notes in Bloom: Celebrating Moments of Joy, Laughter, Strength, Resilience, Care & Compassion

- Self-Improvement
In this episode, I introduce you to Elaine Scudds. For more than two decades, Elaine has supported women with their image to remove boundaries and reclaim their self-worth at any age.
Elaine has been helping me with my image and how that affects my self-worth for almost eight years now.
The hair salon is the first place that many women visit when they're looking to create change.
Since that time, her vision has expanded beyond the salon chair and has her now sharing her wisdom and heart about self-worth, body image and mindset so that women can remove boundaries, reframe old beliefs and create the life they desire.
I'm not sure Elaine realized just how much of a large role she's played in my journey.
How each one of our open-hearted conversations that touched on values, career, friendships, family dynamics, body image and self-worth moved me forward as I navigated a season of change.
It was one of the few places where I felt safe to engage openly in these soothing and supportive conversations back then.
In 2014, when I first met Elaine, I was not in a great place.
I was struggling mentally and emotionally in a teaching career and marriage that wasn't a good fit. Elaine was such a bright spot during that time.
Our conversations brought uplifting energy and were something I looked forward to.
Throughout those years of change that began in 2016 and evolved, Elaine was there for all of the moments.
The highs and the lows.
I've never gotten a chance to thank her publicly, and it's my privilege to share her with you today to share her own journey about how our body image and self-worth can be so intertwined and realize that we can give ourselves permission at any time to separate it.
Let it go and see beyond that.
She cuts right to the chase in the opening with this piece of wisdom:
"With my clients, I've always been able to be my true authentic self. My journey was a hard one. I always believed that I would not be a successful, beautiful, smart, desired person because I was overweight, and that blanketed my entire life."
It's my pleasure to share her with you.
