    Ep#120 Unsticking Yourself

    Ep#120 Unsticking Yourself

Are you stuck in burnout or career growth?

Let's talk about breaking free from stuckness and overcoming burnout. The origins of stuckness lie in our self-belief and fears, and burnout symptoms prevent us seeing past them.  This is the cycle of exhaustion and frustration, and the behaviors that perpetuate it, including busywork and self-doubt.

Recovery of greatness comes from acts of self-kindness, goal-setting, and redefining success, as well as addressing the impact of childhood experiences on self-perception.

I teach self-support, making peace with failure, and seeking personal approval over external validation. Here is genuine possibility for a joyous life and successful recovery from burnout.

    Ep#118 Tending to the Body

    Ep#118 Tending to the Body

Our human bodies are designed to heal, but under a constant burden of high stress, not enough sleep, poor diet, lack of exercise, less than nourishing social connections and willful self-neglect, thriving is not always possible.

At the peak of burnout, our bodies lose tone, vitality and resilience. Many new clients come to me with signs of bodily wear and tear as a result, e.g. inflammatory conditions, chronic pain, migraines, insomnia, high blood pressure, weight and gut issues and so on. In my case, it was a heart attack.

Listen to this episode for restorative tips, and if you feel your health is impacted by stress, please TAKE ACTION.

Burnout recovery improves health. Many chronic conditions can be relieved simply by restoring vitality, mood and connection, as we abandon our crippling stress habits and tend to our mind, body and soul.

    Ep#117 Tending to the Soul

    Ep#117 Tending to the Soul

It can be tough(!) to pause for self-care when burnt out, but those essential pauses can be transformative. I've learned that the act of being kind to oneself is not a luxury; it's a necessity - our souls die without it. Don't they?

Do you wish people would support you more?
Are you being a bit TOO tough on yourself?

As remote an idea as it may seem to you now:  What do you think would happen if you DID practice self-kindness amidst life's pressures?
Let's explore how to rescue your starving soul and restore the wellbeing you truly want and deserve, which will strongly support your burnout recovery. The days of being harsh to yourself may well be over! And not a moment too soon! If harshness worked, you'd already know.

    Ep116 Overcoming Learned Helplessnes

    Ep116 Overcoming Learned Helplessnes

Are your feeling burned out and stuck because of learned helplessness? It can happen to anyone!

In a burnout context, Learned Helplessness can simply be an old pattern of thinking amenable to gentle self-supporting change. e.g. for me, around academic success.

Overcoming it will help you regain control of your life. Becoming curious about where and why you feel helpless can help you see through its false ideas and find ways to support yourself, become stronger, and feel better overall.

N.B. If your experience is trauma-related, please instead seek medical/therapeutic help.

    Show Notes
Q1: What learned helplessness do you have?
Q2: When did you first learn this helplessness?
Q3: How or why did you feel out of control then?
Q4: How could you think about yourself now, that empowers you and acknowledges your strengths?

I was able to listen to the first two, then nothing. I am appalled. This is my first podcast ever and I get this plus obviously I have burnout or I would not be listening to a burnout podcast. Do better.
