114: Wealth Building With Brian Walsh (Part 2)

114: Wealth Building With Brian Walsh (Part 2)

Have you ever wondered how to build real wealth? The type that grows even when you're not working? The kind you can pass on to the next generation AND enjoy with them while you're still around? If you think building your business is only to earn money, then think again. In this episode BRIAN shares with us what real wealth building is and how to get there.
    My Guest: Brian Walsh
Brian Walsh is considered a leading authority on entrepreneurship and human behaviour. He is the founder of The REAL Entrepreneur™, a private research and education organisation dedicated to empower entrepreneurs to live a life of true wealth, freedom and meaning. Brian is a self-made millionaire with a multi-million dollar business, which influences the lives of millions of entrepreneurs in over 140 countries. Brian has spoken live to over one hundred thousand entrepreneurs from all over the world.
    Pivotal Moments
    · What turning point took you from numerous unsuccessful businesses to finally pivoting and getting it to work.
    · A mistake that a lot of people make is that they think that what we do is what makes us successful.
    · It took Brian time to realize that it wasn’t what he was doing that was wrong, it was who he was that was wrong. True success, is when you find who you are. The journey to become the best version of yourself.
    · Brian has been in business for 35 years. His failures are not failures because of what he did, his failures were manifestations of his own belief in himself and what he was worthy of.
    · 2012 was when his shift happened.
    · But over the last few years was the coming together of everything.
    · One has to identify who they are. Look at your past and be truly grateful for it.
    · Everyone has to have values. We need to understand everyone else’s values.
    · Why do people start businesses? For 3 reasons: Money, people, or time. In other words we can say wealth, meaning and freedom-working yourself out of your business. We can wake up and ask our self how, can we create more of these 3 things in our life. Our business is a tool to do that.
    · This focus is what 99% of entrepreneurs don’t get.
    · Most people don’t use the word profit. They talk about cash flow. Paying bills. Creating salaries.
    · When you start out you are creating your salary but once you have done that you can scale out.
    · Wealth means you are making profit and are investing sums of money into your financial independence. Wealth is the accumulation of money and assets.
    Advice
Most people’s reasons for wanting to succeed in business is wanting to be financially free. The problem is they don’t see it as that. Their void is success in business. So they reinvest in a business expand the business take it too far and push it over the edge, instead of just getting it profitable taking the money out and investing, until they are totally free. We have to exemplify this.
The only real passive income is living off investments. So once a business owner acknowledges that he can make passive income, what rules do we need to follow?
    1. Listen to people who have done it.
    2. If it is too good to be true, it probably is and you want to avoid that.
    3. It is long and steady it is no overnight riches. Right now it is about making profit and taking a chunk of your dividend payment and put it into your investments. That is why you have a business. It is supposed to be an asset. Yet it is a liability for most people. It is a lot of conditioning.
    Current Business Struggle
As your business grows, you have to keep growing. So for Brian it is a different game. It is a leadership game. He has to think about his ideas before he puts them into action. He is working on himself to being a good leader. There is still more that has to be done.

113: The $2,750 Coffee Machine With Perry Marshall (Part 2)

113: The $2,750 Coffee Machine With Perry Marshall (Part 2)

If you want to understand an underlying pattern that explains why you are consistently leaving money on the table then Perry Marshall is the man to talk to. Join us today as Perry uncovers the truth behind the 80/20 rule, how it applies to your business, and many other secrets that will have you earning more money immediately.
    Pivotal Moments
    · Perry’s biggest highlights over his years in business was 2 years ago when he was asked to give a presentation in the Royal Society of Great Britain, which was the oldest science organisation in the world.
    · Perry went to China to see his younger brother 17 years ago. He at the time was an English teacher doing missionary work. He had gotten a masters degree in theology. However he didn’t use it then.
    · 10 years later Perry published a book called Evolution 2.0 and a while after that he launched the largest fundamental science research prize in the world which was called the evolution 2.0 prize. Because what Perry found out was that when you ask where did life on earth come from the answer is no one knows.
    · Perry is an engineer, and he understands that a scientist cannot publish a paper and say God did it and that is the answer. No left or right extremes want to figure out how the world works.
    · So Perry figured that if he assigns money to it then it silences the extremes and it brings the real conversation to the surface. It opens up this very deep rabbit hole of things that you can go explore.
    · The reason Perry got invited to the Royal Society, was because the guy who invited him heard him speak on his podcast.
    · Perry worked in engineering; however he couldn’t make ends meet, so he made a leap to sales. When that didn’t work he discovered Direct Marketing. He wondered into a seminar where Dan Kennedy was speaking.
    · The first platform where Perry got sales leads was through Google. His second platform was Facebook.
    · If you understand Google advertising and Facebook advertising, you understand evolution because they work the same way.
    · Perry teaches integrated strategies where you can use the best of the different worlds.
    · Generally, the easiest way to get your step in the door, if you are doing something new, is by using facebook, because you get rapid feedback. But it eventually gets tiresome to keep up with it.
    · 80% of what you are doing you might not need to be doing at all.
    · Sometimes in your life these little kisses from God show up. There is a certain way in which no matter how bad the day is that you may be having, you need a collection of them to dwell back on them.
    Advice:
There are 5 things that are always true anytime anyone sells anything to anyone:
    1. They have the money.
    2. They have a bleeding knack. There is an urgency why they need to solve their problem.
    3. They buy into your USP- Unique Selling Position.
    4. They have the ability to say yes.
    5. It fits their overall plan.
If you apply this to whatever you will do next, it tells you a lot. 80/20 means 20% of what you do produces 80% of what you get and the other 80% that you do produces 20% of what you do. It is a fractal pattern. This means there is a pattern in a pattern in a pattern. You can use this pattern to work predict things.
    Current Business Struggle:
Perry’s company has started a science research 2.0 that specifically funds cancer research that the government won’t fund. Perry feels overwhelmed because he wants to do part of it not all of it, he needs help. He asked his friend to help out, and his friend said make a list of things you want to do and what you don’t want to do.

112: Viral LinkedIn Video With Jonathan Palmar (Part 2)

Jonathan has gained incredible traction on LinkedIn. In less than one year Jonathan went from zero followers to close to 90,000. In this episode Jonathan shares with us his journey starting out as a professional wrestler moving onto a forensic accountant and cracks the LinkedIn code for you so that you can do the same.
    My Guest: Jonathan Palmar
Jonathan's goal is to help you turn connections into clients and followers into loyal fans. Jonathan can transform you into a video rock star that can captivate an audience, with an electrifying message.
    Pivotal Moments
    · To be an intrepreneur you need to be self aware of yourself. Just because you’re confident it doesn’t mean you are a leader.
    · Jonathan was working as a forensic accountant. His father wanted to rebrand the forensic accounting business and that was when he discovered Shay Rowbottom.
    · He started seeing the videos Shay was creating, and subconsciously he knew there was something about what she was doing that was calling him. But on the outside he was helping his dad create video content.
    · Shay then coached Jonathan, and within 2 months Shay actually hired Jonathan.
    · Jonathan was a professional wrestler. He was on TV doing the whole wrestling thing.
    · The reason he became a wrestler was because when he was young, he was bullied a lot, and he looked up to wrestlers. When he was 18 he joined wrestler school and after 2 months he was already on TV.
    · Jonathan went from zero followers to close to 90,000 followers in less than a year.
    · Jonathan makes videos for 5 year olds. Not for business professionals.
    · This is because there is so much going on constantly in his videos; he is trying to keep your attention for at least 2 mins at a time.
    · Jonathan spends 12-15 hrs editing a 2 min video.
    · Jonathan’s text never matches his videos. This is done purposely.
    Advice
You have to add new features to your videos. You need to give value. Don’t preach. Give a CTA. You need to make it easy for your audience to respond to you.
Practical tips to make your post have more engagement:
Higher level, people feel like the content needs to be so valuable that the people come out of this with their lives changed. But the reality is it is not the most effective. If you want to give advice it needs to be something people can do right in the moment.
When it comes to the actual copy and headline, the most effective is giving away secrets, because you need to build trust with your audience. So you want to trust them first so you share a secret with your audience first.
The whole reason why Jonathan creates his videos is because he wants people to click on his profile, because it is his advert.
    Current Business Struggle
When you are doing something that you are very passionate about, it is very hard to then put your phone down close your computer and disconnect. Because you love what you do and it feels like such a blessing, and you realize it can’t last forever. So if you are not leveraging and taking advantage of every opportunity that comes your way, then that is you not showing gratitude for the blessing you have received. But you will also regret it five years down the line when you are back in your cubicle. Jonathan has a lot of fear that he will lose it and he needs to treat it with the highest degree of respect it while he has it. So his struggle is to be able to enjoy the journey instead of ploughing through everything.
    Breakthrough
Once you have created a master skill, you can never lose it you can only have the opportunity to re-apply it. There can be a time in your life that you can re-apply it in a different way.
