There aren't too many names who balance the Detroit and Chicago sounds with as many quality releases as Steven Tang has. Over the past 25 years, it seems that every EP he has put his name on earns hardcore devoted fans. Its a wonder why he isn't more well known then he should be. Bridging the 2nd generation Detroit producers to the new millennium, you wont find a much more beloved producer of the futuristic Detroit sound. Steven started up Emphasis Recordings in 1998. With just under 20 releases in 24 years, one may think the label isnt that productive but that is also the speed in which Steven puts out his own music as well. Quality being most important to Steven. In 2013 Steven landed on the Smallville label with his first full length album called "Disconnect To Connect" to rave reviews. A little more polished and acid sounding then his own labels' music but still representing a great house and techno balance. Steven is pretty low key these days. As Covid hopefully lets up we hope to see more dj gig's in the near future with him. A blind purchase each time you see his name, we hope to see some new music from Steven in 2022 and 2023
