Cinema Splash Page is a podcast where comic book creators discuss the movies (and other things) that influenced their storytelling, and filmmakers talk about the comics (and other things) that inspired theirs.

Alex Keledjian & Ryan Gibson are the co-hosts of a podcast called How I Got Greenlit.
They also produce movies like High Voltage, God's Country, Feast, and Freaks.
Join us as Ryan and Alex share their thoughts on some truly obscure and fascinating 80s movies (Final Countdown, anyone? Ice Pirates?) and then discuss the advantages and disadvantages of filmmaking on a wide range of budget levels.

Jeff Strand (Dweller, A Bad Day For Voodoo, Pressure) talks writing influences, walk-on roles in low budget horror movies, and novelizations whose time (may) have come.
Jeff Strand is a highly accomplished and prolific novelist. He's the author of the Dweller, the greatest boy-meets-monster story ever written, as well as about 50 other books that are pretty swell, too. This list includes: Dead Clown Barbecue, Wolf Hunt, Single White Psychopath Seeks Same, and many many more equally notable and wonderful novels. There are far too many to list here-- like I said, the guy is crazy prolific!
On this episode, Jeff talks to us about authors and films that influenced and inspired him. We discuss the works of Douglas Adams and Richard Laymon. Later, he singles out a handful of low budget horror films he recommends and then a few more that he actually appears in. We quickly touch on the magic of horror musicals and what it was like to be on set with the Godfather of Gore himself, Herschell Gordon Lewis.

Mark Evanier (Groo, Garfield and Friends, Crossfire) shares tales of the comic book industry, tales of Hollywood, and of course, tales of Jack Kirby.
The legendary Mark Evanier joins us to discuss a few of his many Hollywood and comics industry adventures.
On this episode, Mark shares stories about working on Welcome Back Kotter, the 80s Dungeons and Dragons cartoon show, and the 90s Bob Newhart show. We also get treated to anecdotes about Dave Stevens, Sergio Aragones, and of course there's plenty of talk about the king of comics himself, Jack Kirby.

Ed Brisson (Predator, Batman, The Violent) swings by with his thoughts on crime films, crime authors, and how Jim Jarmusch's Night on Earth changed his perception of the rules of storytelling.
Ed Brisson is an exceptional comic book writer. His character-driven crime stories are some of the best and most engaging books that have been published by any company in the past 15 years.
His creator-owned titles include: Sheltered, The Last Contract, There's Something Wrong With Patrick Todd, and his next surefire hit series: The Sins of the Salton Sea.
Of course, crime comics aren't the only thing Ed does well. Over at Marvel and DC, he's written several excellent Batman books, taken the reins on Alpha Flight, and dabbled with The X-Men, Ghost Rider, and The Avengers. And he's worked on licensed properties as well, doing highly acclaimed runs on Predator, Sons of Anarchy, and Robocop.
On this episode, Ed joins us to discuss crime movies, crime authors, and weighs in with his thoughts on whether or not anyone should be adapting Elmore Leonard to comics.

Great perspective on the creative process and how movies can be an inspiration to an author or a filmmaker. Some awesome recommendations of movies I haven’t seen without giving any spoilers in the process. Not even sure how they pulled that off. Looking forward to more episodes!
