Love this refreshing talk

Love this podcast! You ladies have such a talent to keep the talk light hearted, encouraging and still touch on topics that need to be discussed. You discuss them in a loving and non judge space and intersect God’s love and promise into each episode ❤️❤️❤️

April is not a spirit animal

This podcast, centres evangelical, finically stable, abled white women. Not all mothers experiences are ventured by this, but this podcast seems to think so.

This podcast doesn’t have to see all mothers, but it claims to “see” all mothers. If you want to be seen and don’t fit the above description, this podcast probably ain’t it. Which honestly is really sad to me because this podcast has some real truth and experience to it. It’s expanding conversations that we are just starting to have as a society about real moms experiences. If it comes to postpartum bodies, newborns, toddlers... I just really wish this podcast would actively practice the inclusivity it claims to be.

Also it claims the word spirit animal, in a way it should not be “claimed”. It ignores the significant role spirit animals play in indigenous cultures and that spirit animals are not for white consumption. When so many indigenous people struggle to learn the language and the culture they as their communities have lost... you don’t get to make a light joke about how April is a spirit animal because she isn’t. And the idea to profit with T-shirt’s is nothing less than disgusting. April’s introvert is sooo relatable, but she is not and never will be a spirit animal.
