Talking My Language
Walk with me.
When I was a kid, my parents would sometimes have parties and all their friends would come over. The house would be full of people and noise and confusion, and I would sneak my way through the crowd out to the back room where the Old Guard (which I guess is the Scots/Irish version of the OGs) would be hanging out, sneaking cigarettes and sitting on crates. These old guys came from all over, and would be swapping stories and jokes and worldviews and philosophies, and when I'd sneak into the room way past my bedtime, they greeted me as a peer. They all wanted to impart some wisdom to me, to teach me something beyond my understanding, and not all of them agreed on what that should be, but we'd all talk it through together as equals, despite our different backgrounds and age difference. I was never talked down to, and I felt like I'd found a place where I belonged.
This is Comic Book Junto for me now. Like I've found that tribe or clan who are speaking my language, who are welcoming me into the discussion about all the things that matter to me, going hard, getting deep, but having so much fun at the same time. This is the reason I love comic books, the art, the philosophy, the politics, the 'why' of it all. The only thing I've been missing is the discussion, and now here it is. This is The Junto.

I love Comic Book Junto! These guys got me back into buying comics and checking out different storylines. It's a great listen with two great hosts that open mindedly discuss geek culture. They give you a sense of inclusion though talk back and by not judging people's opinions on geek stuff. I f you like comic books, movies, video games and other geek stuff give them a listen.
