    Being the co-founder of Singapore-based label Darker Than Wax and the newly opened listening bar Offtrack, Dean has been tirelessly pushing and promoting an alternative expression of lefteld music through his widely eclectic and genre-bending sets. As the main A+R and creative mind behind DTW, the label has flourished tremendously over the past 5 years, cementing its place as one of the go-to labels out of South East Asia.
    His musical selections, which traverses across an extensive spectrum from deep jazz to the freshest cuts have left many indelible marks on the dancefloors. A highly respected digger who is also known by many in the circuit for his extensive musical knowledge, technically astute skills, and blends, it’s no surprise that he has warmed up or shared the stage with Bradley Zero, Lefto, Alex Kassian, HAAI, Pablo Valentino, Marcellus Pittman, Pearson Sound, the late Mike Huckaby and many more.

    What began as an interest in the natural world eventually developed into a fascination with the plants that grow in our wilds and their myriad uses - medicine, utility, and especially food.
    Discovering these lesser-known fruits and herbs and their potential for food led Esmonde to seeing his surroundings in a new light, and was eager to share this sense of wonderment with others.
    Since about 2010, Esmonde has been conducting foraging tours informally, bringing friends and small groups on rambles aand camping trips. In 2019, he finally got his license as an Area Tour Guide so he could start sharing my experiences beyond my social circle, conducting tours regularly on Airbnb.

    Having spent over a decade across the food value chain, having worked from 'Farm to Table' in multiple countries like Australia and Ireland, working across a diverse range of industries including being a chef, barista, grocer, and farmer.
    Some of his past projects include being the Head Farmer of the World's highest rooftop Urban farm - CapitaSpring. As well as the General Manager of the Urban Farming pioneer, Edible Garden City. His current role is the founder of 'The Freestyle Farmer' brand/consultancy, as well as the CEO of a cricket protein startup, Future Protein Solutions, and an adjuct lecturer in RP's Urban Agricultural Technology Diploma.
    He has also written a memoir about his Urban Farming journey, 'The Freestyle Farmer'. And he has been a host of a farming documentary 'Growing Wild' that has been featured on Channel News Asia.
    Chris truly enjoys the 'manual labour' and being outdoors. In his free time, he tends to his open concept Community Garden 'Nutopia' and goes for unplanned travels for inspiration.
