Courage, Vision, & Standards with Emma Olmedo of Floriography KC The Bethany Shipley Show

    • Entrepreneurship

Meet Emma Olmedo, the owner and lead designer of Floriography https://www.floriographykc.com/about.

If you were to ask Emma about herself, she would proudly tell you that she has always been the "creative girl". From a young age, she would memorize her spelling words by painting them and could often be found sneaking off to do some kind of craft instead of the school work waiting for her. As time passed, Emma's passion for creativity only grew stronger, and today you will still find her fully immersed in her ultimate passion: floral design!

Emma embarked on her designing journey in 2013. She dedicated herself to learning the ins and outs of everyday arrangements and honed her craft in creating beautiful boutonnieres and corsages. But it was the world of wedding flowers that truly captivated her. Becoming a full-time designer, Emma had the privilege of working for some of the most renowned wedding floral companies in the KC metro area. Her talent and dedication also led her to win multiple floral design competitions. You can even find Emma's work published in prestigious magazines such as The Kansas City Fashion Collaborative's Magazine, The Perfect Wedding Guide, EA Bride Magazine, and featured on various online wedding inspiration blogs.

In January of 2019, Floriography was born. This was an exciting milestone for Emma, as many couples have entrusted her to play a part in their special day. She never takes that responsibility lightly! Emma understands the honor of designing the bouquet that a bride will carry down the aisle to meet her groom, or creating the flowers on the arbor beneath which they will exchange their vows and pledge their futures to one another. Each wedding she designs holds a special place in her heart, and her goal is not only to create something visually stunning that will leave wedding guests raving for years to come, but also to incorporate sentimental touches that make each wedding as unique as the couples themselves.
