Daily Thunder Podcast Eric Ludy + Nathan Johnson


Baptism can be a divisive topic in the church and we tend to either place way too much emphasis on it or not enough. In this episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to discuss the importance of baptism, what it actually means biblically as it relates to salvation, and how we can navigate important questions like: should I be baptized?, should I be baptized again?, and is baptism necessary for salvation?

As Christians, we are not only “image bearers” of the living God, but we are also filled with His Spirit. As such, we are called to live holy, godly, and righteous lives in this present age. As Paul tells us in Ephesians 4:30, when we live counter to the life and character of Christ, we grieve the Holy Spirit, in whom we were sealed for the day of redemption.

If you are a fellow father, it’s tough hearing Eric brag and brag about how his dad was so amazing. It’s especially difficult, if you don’t feel like you are doing so hot in the fatherhood department. In this sixth episode in the series, Eric allows a bit of a wrinkle in his Dad’s fathering to be revealed. Winston Ludy was a flawed father, but it's how he responded to his flaws that makes him a father worth bragging about. Hopefully, this will encourage all father’s out there to start today being incredible. 

As believers, our words are meant to edify, build up, and encourage one another. We are to strengthen the faith of those around us, pushing others toward Christ rather than distracting them from Him. In this message on Ephesians 4:29, Nathan reminds us that our tongues are instruments that can be used for good or evil—and all our communication must come under the authority of Jesus Christ.

Christians are called “believers,” yet most of us separate the concepts of belief and faith in our minds and in how we live. In this episode, Eric and Nathan sit down to talk about the connection between believing and having faith, why faith is critical to our lives, and they give several good (and goofy) illustrations to help us understand that faith (belief) is more than merely a mental activity.
