In "Hardcore History" journalist and broadcaster Dan Carlin takes his "Martian", unorthodox way of thinking and applies it to the past. Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Adolf Hitler? What would Apaches with modern weapons be like? Will our modern civilization ever fall like civilizations from past eras? This isn't academic history (and Carlin isn't a historian) but the podcast's unique blend of high drama, masterful narration and Twilight Zone-style twists has entertained millions of listeners.

This show picks up where Dan's Thor's Angels show left off. In the early Middle Ages Pagan Germanic-language speakers like the Vikings are a dying breed. Many of their contemporaries wish they'd die faster.

    BLITZ Human Resources

The Atlantic Slave Trade mixes centuries of human bondage with violence, economics, commerce, geo-political competition, liberty, morality, injustice, revolution, tragedy and bloody reckonings. That sounds like a lot, yet this show merely scratches the surface of this enormous subject.

Thanks, “Enholio…”

Let me start by saying I have thoroughly enjoyed every episode of this show!
Dan Carlin’s delivery is entertaining, informative, and easy to follow. His enthusiasm and passion for history is evident and quite infectious! I would recommend it to anyone looking for incredible stories; the facts and the theories.

In regards to the reviewer who took the time to give a bad review…
Enholio… c’mon, Buddy… what are you doing with your life? Why bother saying something negative? If you don’t enjoy the show, just don’t listen. Keep your negative opinion to yourself or, better yet, start your own podcast and dispute your disagreements. I’m sure that would be a lot more fun and productive!

I appreciate the length and detail of the episodes; I’m sure this took a lot of time, effort, and research, and I get the vibe that it was a lot of fun to produce.
Please keep making more! History has continued to become more fascinating to me the more I listen to shows like this.
An enormous “THANK YOU!” to Dan and anyone involved in the production of this show!
Don’t let the naysayers bring you down!

Mr. Clark22 ,

The Best. Period.

Years since discovering Dan, I have yet to find an equal. He has the knowledge of an historian but the story telling ability of a journalist. Personal favourites for me are actually the first two I listened a number of years ago…Blueprint for Armageddon and King of Kings. I’ve listened to both of those a few times each and they are easily my favourites.

Please keep releasing new stuff Dan!

I love Dans approach to history, as a fan as most of us are. His excitement for each topic comes through when he speaks. I highly recommend this podcast to anyone!
