When Six Feet Isn't An Option

When Six Feet Isn't An Option

Two stories on incarceration and coronavirus: an update from Lawrence Bartley, whose time sheltering in place has him reflecting on his time in prison, and a woman who wrote to him, worried about her incarcerated husband's safety.

For more conversations with Lawrence, here is our first one from 2014, a follow-up with his wife Ronnine from 2017, and our check-in with both of them a few months after he was released in 2018, and read his essay for The Marshall Project here.

Always excellent

I just love this podcast, I’ve been listening for years and it never fails to make me feel more connected, inspired, uplifted, and generally more human. Anna is a master interviewer - thank you Anna you absolute legend!

Love this show

I learn so much from the way Anna holds space with care while simultaneously going to deep, often uncomfortable spaces with guests. You will get sides of guests that may not come out elsewhere. Anna is clearly always engaging in reflexivity, learning alongside the guests and listeners about herself, the world, and the inner workings of those she interviews.

Death sex and money

I love these little slices of life. Thanks Anna you have such a lite touch and such a wonderful voice. So glad I stumbled on your podcast. A real jewel! It is rare to find someone who interviews without taking over the subject matter.
