We revisit those days when kids worked during summer months to earn extra money, and recall a variety of jobs such as yard work, food service, helping out in local stores and shops, or just doing odd jobs around the neighborhood. The satisfaction of earning our own money was rewarding while we learned responsibility, punctuality, and budgeting, along with meeting people with all types of personalities. Youthful employment was often great preparation for job positions and perhaps a career in our adult life, which we also touch upon.
