Ep. 67: T.S. Harris - The Face of Love. A Conversation about Love, Art and Making Dreams Come True
In today’s episode, I’m thrilled to introduce you to one of my very favorite artists, T.S. (Tracey) Harris. Tracey has been with me for many years as I have owned a print of one of her paintings (The Floating Girl) that has hung in my office and reminds me to connect with the free parts of myself. Her work has impacted so many people and the images she creates convey such a feeling of impermanence, longing and nostalgia.
Tracey has such a beautiful energy and this conversation took many unexpected turns as she shared her story and her journey from childhood to now. She spoke about how art influenced her life and also how her life has influenced her art. As she grew into herself more and connected with her true self, she reflects on how her paintings became bigger and bolder and attracted the attention of a movie director for an Indie Film called The Face of Love starring Ed Harris and Annette Benning.
I enjoyed listening to some of the behind the scenes stories of the filming of this movie, including the moment she gave Ed Harris a painting lesson on the set while the cameras were rolling! For Tracey, that experience was a dream come to life, and as she said in the interview, the universe dreamed it up so much better than she could have imagined.
It is no surprise to me that the woman that paints these deeply emotional paintings, has such a deep emotional world. We connected over her love of Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay, and how their work and her mediation practice supported her to connect with the universe and her own inner knowing when thing got hard.
“There is a place for everybody. There is a reason for everyone. We are not here as a random accident. We are here to look inward and then express ourselves outward.” ~ T.S. Harris
I have deep respect and gratitude for Tracey for sharing both the exhilarating and joyful moments of her journey, but also the difficult and darker moments. As I mentioned to her during our conversation, sharing those more challenging parts of our lives can literally be life saving for other people. As I listened to Tracey share her hero's journey, I felt so connected to her. Tracey feels like she is now the person she was always meant to be, but it wasn’t always the case.
I hope that Tracey’s story inspires you to follow your dreams and to keep going even when it seems impossible and to know that you are not alone. Please also share it with anyone else in your life that may benefit from this conversation.
If you are needing support during this pandemic, I invite you to join my free Facebook Group that I have created for you. It is so important to me that we are ready to exit the Waiting Room when it’s time to re-enter our new lives on the other side of this.
