Episode 133 - Jordan Dail Outside The Chute

    • Sports

Outside The Chute sat down and chatted with University of Oregon alum, current assistant coach with the North Carolina Tar Heels and current member of the Texas Smoke in the WPF, the one and only, Jordan Dail.
Jordan has had a fantastic career to date.  After playing her freshman season at Virginia Tech in 2018, she spent the last four seasons with the Ducks in Oregon. Jordan pitched over 368 innings in 85 appearances, racking up 32 wins, 28 complete games, three saves, 354 strikeouts and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament. As a sophomore, Jordan was a Second Team All-PAC-12 selection, throwing two no-hitters and becoming just the fourth Duck ever to throw multiple seven-inning no-hitters in one season. That season, she led the Pac-12 by more than 70.0 innings pitched and ranked second in the nation during the regular season with a total of 248 innings of work.
She is now working as a volunteer assistant at her favourite childhood team growing up, UNC and is also getting set to start her pro career with the Texas Smoke in the WPF.
We’re gonna talk to Jordan about getting her start in the game, the journey to Virginia Tech which led to her transfer to Oregon, her personal mental struggles she had with game, the transition to coaching and of course what it means to be a part of the Texas Smoke.
Jordan was an absolute pleasure to chat with.  I’m so happy she took the time to come on and take a real deep dive into her career with us.  Legit, one of my favorite talks I’ve had for sure
