Where tongues dance using moves choreographed by Swahili, the word Hekaya exists.
In the context of English, it means LEGENDS. The stories our people used to transfer knowledge from one generation to the next. In the context of spirituality, it's a borrowed idea of hope using stories told by our forefathers. where our people taught about love and war, villains and heroes. Where the screams of mothers are captured as the cries of babies, Kept as a reminder of the sacredness of joy and laughter. Hekaya is the transfer of energies, it is magic captured in the form of notes. In the context of PG13 it is a promise, a promise that our stories from the past will continue to be told. Matched with the legends of the future. It pays homage to the ones that came before us and is a prayer for the ones that will come after us. We honour the spirits of music through this project. It is a reminder that everyone has a story and those who don't aren't listening to themselves and everyone is on their way to being a legend and those who aren't can't see themselves.  see less
