    EO Review!

    EO Review!

This episode of the FILM ETC. podcast is all about a donkey. But it's not just any donkey, it's 'EO'. The latest film from veteran Polish filmmaker Jerzy Skolimowski which is nominated for Best International Feature Film at this year's Academy Awards. Considered by many to be a visceral cinematic experience, does host Mike Webb follow on that wavelength? Listen and find out.

EO, a gray donkey with melancholic eyes and a curious spirit, begins his life as a circus performer before escaping on a trek across the Polish and Italian countryside in a journey marked by absurdity and warmth in equal measure. Legendary filmmaker Jerzy Skolimowski directs one of his most free and visually inventive films yet, placing the viewer directly in the heart and mind of the titular four-legged protagonist. Playing the role of EO are six donkeys named Ettore, Hola, Marietta, Mela, Rocco, and Tako. The film also has human actors as well, including Sandra Drzymalska, Lorenzo Zurzolo, Mateusz Kosiciukiewicz, and the legendary Isabelle Huppert.
