But here’s the truth (and no one in the diet culture echo chamber will tell you this): Holidays are some of the worst times to try to cut calories. Not because fat loss is bad.Not because you “can’t do it.”But because the season you’re in matters. The holidays involve more social meals, family, tradition, and food you actually look forward to. Trying to diet through them often means saying no to memories, feeling guilty over a piece of pie, “starting over” every Monday, building resentment toward the process, and usually… quitting.
