Episode 10 - Jimmy Rilin’ With Andrew Wilkinson (Part 1)

Another origin story this week, as CEO Andrew Wilkinson joins to talk about how he went from scraping by as a barista to running a global design agency in just a couple of years. He discusses what it really means to be a CEO, the struggles of going from 0 employees to that first one, and how MetaLab grew so quickly (it involved pissing people off).

Episode 9 - Not Too Big on the Fancy

Taking the hot seat on this episode is Malcolm, the iOS engineering bridge between MetaLab (consulting) and software. He tells us about being a paid programmer since eighth grade, constantly pushing the boundaries of iOS, and how doing consulting work keeps us sharp in software. He also very casually fields questions about his vast collection of awards, but really casually - definitely not bragging - and says why he won’t be buying the Apple Watch.

    Episode 8—Employee #1

Mark, MetaLab's first employee, joins us to talk about how the consulting team operates, and tells his official MetaLab Origin Story. Later: Tim discusses the odds and ends of our unlimited vacation policy, and because it’s Christmas, we reflect on some of our treasured Christmas movie favourites, including the sadistic noir masterpiece ‘Home Alone’.

Next step forward for humanity

In the history of humankind there are some developments that come along that truly push forward humanity. From the Pre-Cambrian spark of life, through the first crude tools, agriculture, Gutenberg, Shakespeare, the personal computer, and onward…

The significance of the emergence of Flow Radio as a human endeavour will likely not be fully appreciated until future generations’ historians are able to process the quantum shift it has ushered in. There is society before Flow Radio and then there is the modern age.

“Before Flow Radio, life was lonely, brutish, short and boring.” - Mark Twain.

Hella good

A nice insider take on the industry, while at the same time making lots of room for shenanigans and BS
