    Mad Max

    Mad Max

Welcome to Episode 13 of From the Wastes!  Phantom Dark Dave joins me to discuss the 1979 film, Mad Max.
This was Dave's first time viewing the film and I thought it would be interesting to get a fresh perspective of an older film from a film buff such as he.  Did he like it?  What did he think about it?  You'll have to listen to find out. ;)
You can find Dave on twitter, as well as his Podcast from Another World, featured on the Terrible Terror podcast.  Dave is a fan of all things film and a fellow Trekkie.  Always keeping it fresh with new projects and ideas, it was a real treat to have him on the show and give us his insight into the one that started it all, Mad Max.

    Here On Mars

    Here On Mars

Welcome to episode 12 of From the Wastes!  Today's guest is Here on Mars... musician and fan of scifi, the apocalypse, and common sense.
I met Randy a few years ago through Phantom Dark Dave and was immediately taken with his intelligence and musical ability.  Randy hails from Kansas City where he weaves futuristic soundscapes with rock guitar and vocals and sci-fi dystopian themes.
We chat about his musical beginnings and then we get into the apocalypse, where I ask the tough questions.
Check him out on Twitter and head over to Bandcamp and Youtube to give him a listen.  You won't be disappointed.

    Trek Talk: Miri

    Trek Talk: Miri

Welcome to Episode 10 of From the Wastes!  This is the first episode of Trek Talk to be featured on FtW. Trek Talk is a group of four Star Trek fans who like to get together and chat about episodes (and movies) from the Star Trek universe.  Join myself, Johnny Staggs, Phantom Dark Dave, and Randy of Here On Mars as we discuss the postapoc episode from the original Star Trek series, Miri.
Trek Talk originated on Dave's Pop Culture Podcast and when Dave made the decision to end that podcast, he graciously gave me permission to continue the tradition here.  His episodes are still available to listen to and I strongly recommend doing so if you are a fan of classic horror and science fiction.  And please check out his new podcast, The Podcast from Another World, episodes being featured on the Terrible Terror podcast.  Dave will be talking about classic SciFi movies up through the 1980's.
If you're a fan of kick ass indie synth rock, make sure to check out Here On Mars.  You can find Randy on Twitter, Youtube, and Bandcamp (links below).
And if you're a fan of Star Trek and want to connect with one of the nicest guys on the internet, pay Johnny Staggs a visit on the Twitters (link below).

    Rutger Hauer

    Rutger Hauer

Rutger Hauer passed away July 19, 2019 at the age of 75.  He was one of my favorite actors, starring in some of my favorite films.  I wanted to spend some time talking about what Rutger meant to me, along with couple of these films... Split Second, Blood of Heroes, and Omega Doom.  The man was truly larger than life and made a huge impact on me as a teenager in the 80's.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Hauer.
