Rabbi Daniel Cohen Creating a Life Of Legacy Growing Older Living Younger: About longevity, wellness, healthspan,

    • Alternative Health

"When I think about the Elijah moment, it means we may not be able to change the world, but each and every one of us can change the world of one person. " {Rabbi Daniel Cohen)

"The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day  you find out why." (Mark Twain)

Reflecting on my life, for most of the earlier years, like most of us I was just too busy living to think about why. The theme of today's conversation, centers on the soul-searching questions, what is your life purpose, your why ? And what will be your legacy?

To help me and you answer this question, I am honored to have as my guest, Rabbi Daniel Cohen. He is the  author of  What Will They Say About You When You Are Gone? Creating a Life of Legacy. He also co-hosts  the nationally syndicated Radio Show, The Rabbi and the Reverend , with Reverend Greg Doll.

Rabbi Cohen has served in the rabbinate for over thirty years and currently serves as senior Rabbi  in Stamford, CT, at the largest modern orthodox synagogue in New England.

Before discussing his book, which suggests 7 Principles to realize one's life purpose at any age and provides a toolbox of ideas, we talk about the opening exercise. Designed to help one reflect on how you would want to be remembered so that you can reverse engineer your life choices and decisions going forward. What will they say about you when you are gone?

Takeaways:
Connect- think of someone in your life that you have meant to call, who needs a little inspiration or a kind word, but time got away and you have not connected. Don't wait another minute – text or call.

There is a concept of mysticism that if you have a fluttering in your soul to do something good, seize the moment, because that is your soul's way of telling you to bring a little more light into the world.
