Onscreen, Bruce Willis dodged bullets and explosions in Die Hard and countless action films, making him the biggest movie star of the ‘90s. Offscreen, he dodged the tabloid press and became so determined to live a private life he moved to one of the smallest towns in Idaho. But he didn’t just want to live in Hailey — he wanted to transform it. Soon, this sleepy old mining town was home to a culture clash between Hollywood spectacle and small-town values, with real-life secret rooms, car chases, and betrayal worthy of a Willis thriller. Welcome to Haileywood. Host Dana Schwartz will be your guide.

Great show!
What a great podcast short series! It was well-written and edited, and always kept me interested, curious, and entertained. I always looked forward to when the next episode would drop. Pls make more like these!!
I wanted to like it, but it’s a hit piece on Bruce Willis
The guy did nothing wrong. In fact, this podcast makes me like him more. Here is an example of a movie star trying to something nice and jealous people complain about his actions. Want to listen to music to loud? Lift up a town? Take a chance on a movie? Have a personal life? Not without reporters giving you a hard time about it every time you don’t hit it out of the park. If you don’t think that’s the case, here’s a tabloid reporter doing that years after the fact. This is shameful journalism.
I like it
Interesting story, and I love Dana of course. It can be a little slow sometimes, and the audio mixing is… ambitious, sometimes a bit too much. Its generally pretty good though.
