Halloweenies® is a monthly podcast for fans of all horror franchises. Each season, co-hosts Justin Gerber, Mike Vanderbilt, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, and Michael Roffman slice through an iconic series one movie at a time. In 2018, they started in Haddonfield, Illinois with Halloween. In 2019, they dreamed through Springwood, Ohio for A Nightmare on Elm Street. In 2020, they roasted mallows at Camp Crystal Lake on Friday the 13th. In 2021, they solved crimes in Woodsboro for a Scream. Now, they're heading into the woods to battle The Evil Dead. As always, there will be tricks, there will be treats, and, yes, there will be blood.

Near Dark (1987)
In anticipation of its 35th anniversary, we're unlocking our deep dive on Kathryn Bigelow's 1987 neo-Western horror film Near Dark. Together, they discuss the state of the Western in the '80s, the eclectic filmography of Bigelow, all of the James Cameron regulars, and why it's impossible to find it. Special guest includes Daily Dead Managing Editor Heather Wixson. Note: As aforementioned, this installment of The Rental was unlocked from our Patreon and recorded in August 2020. Ash vs Evil Dead (2015-2018)
After being dragged to Hell, the Halloweenies are back on track and returning to the woods for another cabin trip. Along the way, though, they run into a rag-tag duo called the Ghost Beaters and learn that their "El Jefe" is the man they've been looking for all along. Yes, deadites, it's the much-anticipated Ash Vs. Evil Dead episode and the gang saws through all three seasons of the underrated Starz series. Together, they discuss the evolution (or often de-evolution) of Ash Williams, the pros and cons of streaming vs. weekly watches, the showrunner shakeups, and, you guessed it, 2005's Kojak.

The Other Gerber Bro
Excellent podcast with a great group of friends.
The “Don’t worry baby” of Podcasts.
Dan is the nice one.
Tough to top the cheese rabbet guy but hey here goes
Really enjoy this podcast. Started listening in season one. Planned to wait until the next Nightmare/Friday film dropped before listening to the season’s dedicated to them but saw the flaws in my plan and thought better of it. Currently falling asleep/washing dishes listening to season 3.
The rotation of hosts clearly care deeply about the films they’re speaking about, which is what I’m looking for as someone who does as well. Don’t always agree (Freddy’s Dead is a god awful stoner masterpiece and I will die on this hill) but I always respect their takes.
Only minor gripe is the occasional off the cuff remark that takes a bit too hard a swipe (IMO) at the people involved in making the movie that’s being discussed. It never seems particularly malicious, though.
I also keep getting these damn theme songs stuck in my head and have no idea where they’re from or how to find them (entirely possible they’ve mentioned them and I missed it).
Reviews are weird, how the hell do I end this thing? Yes I’m going to finish my f***ing croissant get your own
