Halloweenies is a monthly podcast for fans of all horror franchises. Each season, co-hosts Justin Gerber, Mike Vanderbilt, Dan Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, and Michael Roffman slice through an iconic series one movie at a time. In 2018, they started in Haddonfield, Illinois with Halloween. In 2019, they dreamed through Springwood, Ohio for A Nightmare on Elm Street. And in 2020, they're roasting mallows at Camp Crystal Lake on Friday the 13th. As always, there will be tricks, there will be treats, and, yes, there will be blood.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)

After Jason Takes Manhattan didn't exactly "take" the box office in the Summer of 1989, Paramount Pictures sold the rights of Jason Voorhees to New Line Cinema. What would follow is arguably the most audacious sequelizing in horror movie history.

    Welcome to New Line November.

With Jason Goes to Hell, hosts Justin Gerber, Mike Vanderbilt, and Dan Caffrey are joined by Psychoanalysis co-host Mike Snoonian for a fiery conversation that involves legal mumbo jumbo, connections to Evil Dead, and that Nightmare ending.

So, grab your Kandarian dagger and listen above.

    Interview with Tom Holland

    Interview with Tom Holland

In our final Halloween treat of the season, Master of Horror Tom Holland joins the podcast to celebrate the 35th anniversary of 1985's Fright Night. Together, we sank our teeth into the film’s rich pre-production history, the queer subtext that has since led to countless reevaluations (including by our pals the Horror Queers), the eternal hunkness of Chris Sarandon, and why we feel the film is so timeless.

Carving Out the Halloween Comics with Stefan Hutchinson

Carving Out the Halloween Comics with Stefan Hutchinson

In this special boo-boo-bonus episode, Halloweenie Dan Caffrey returns to Haddonfield, Illinois with writer and filmmaker Stefan Hutchinson. Together, they revisit Hutchinson's iconic comics -- specifically, Nightdance, First Death of Laurie Strode, 30 Years of Terror, One Good Scare, and Autopsis -- and his short story Halloween: Sam. For Michael Myers obsessives, consider this one hell of a Halloween treat.

Tricks and Treats: Five First Watches, Female Slashers, and Nick Antosca's Friday the 13th

Tricks and Treats: Five First Watches, Female Slashers, and Nick Antosca's Friday the 13th

With Tricks and Treats, the Halloweenies answer your questions. For the inaugural episode, Justin, Mac, and Mike discuss a litany of topics, from female slashers to pre-1968 horror films to the greatest horror remakes to even a larger discussion on Nick Antosca's un-produced Friday the 13th screenplay. They also share their five favorite first watches of the month. Not surprisingly, it's a long one.

To put it simply, this podcast is ballin

I give this show 5 “digital de-aged Robert De Niro foot stomps” out of 5!

Step aside “Irishman”, there’s a younger, faster, stronger, shorter form of entertainment in town!!

Awesome Series!

I got into these guys through the Losers Club (Stephen King) podcast and I am hooked. It’s awesome to watch these old films again and then listen to the hosts’ in-depth analysis. I find myself going back to the movies to find stuff I didn’t notice the first time. Their analyses are spot-on and funny, and listening to them feels like sitting around with old friends. Highly recommended!
