    There are two parts to giving feedback that drives results. There’s the ‘how you do it’.  But more importantly, there’s the ‘why’ you do it.

    I love to give feedback, said nobody, ever. 
    Well - that’s not entirely true, but still...the vast majority of people struggle with it or do it ineffectively.
    And the main reason for that is because they’re worried how people will react to the feedback. They’re uncomfortable dealing with the after effects of the feedback. 
    What if you could naturally give super-effective feedback without worrying what other people thought?
    What impact would that have on you and your team? Imagine the worrying and pent-up frustrations you wouldn’t have to deal with anymore.
    I’m going to say right up front that I suuuucked at giving feedback for a very long time.  I made all the mistakes, which is why I intimately understand the challenges.
    There are two parts to giving feedback that drives results.  There’s the ‘how to do it’. But more importantly there’s the WHY you’re doing it. 
    We get a lot of training on the how and not-so-much on the why… and why is that?
    It’s probably because we think the WHY is always the same. We want people to perform better and get better results … but is that the real reason?

    This is the best form of self-care for higher productivity.

    You’re exhausted and burnt out.  There’s never enough time in the day to get it all done, never mind making time to take care of you.
    Now, I’ll tell you something that you already know; “You have to take care of yourself if you want to succeed”. 
    But what does that really mean? A statement like that tends to go in one ear and out the other. 
    Well, I’ll tell you what it doesn’t mean…  it doesn’t mean a spa day, Netflix or a vacation. It doesn’t even mean time off or buying yourself something nice.  
    Those are all passive forms of self care that only have temporary benefits. 
    What I want to share is a more active form of self-care that helps you make better decisions, save time, achieve more, have less stress and stay focused on a consistent basis...day in and day out - no vacation required.
    Sound good?  Of course it does.  The real question isn’t “do you want the benefits of active self-care?”.  The real question is “why don’t you practice active self-care?”
    So in this episode I’m going to define active self care, the benefits of it and why we avoid doing it.  And, I’ll share my own recent experience of what happened when I stopped practicing active self care and why you should make it your #1 success strategy moving forward.
