Unbelievably FANTASTIC Podcast!!
The amount of knowledge that Doctor John drops is astounding! I feel like I’m back in college in a criminal psychology course again, and I LOVE IT! He sites his references so that I can go and learn more, if I want to! I don’t think anyone else does this so well in any other true crime podcast - we all know, there are plenty to listen to. He is clinical without being boring, and you can tell, he has a big, compassionate heart too.
And then there’s Lori… she is the PERFECT match to Doctor John. Ever the journalist, her input to the podcast is always spot on, she always asks the questions “I would want to ask,” and her firsthand knowledge of the LDS religion is extremely valuable in this particular series. I’m sure she’d be a rockstar, regardless of the content, but in this setting, it’s particularly great that she can fill in some of the blanks for people who may not have ever been LDS.
These two are an incredible team. I’m happy I fumbled upon this show. They are tackling the Vallow/Daybell case as professionally as possible, without disparaging the faith that these two “alleged” murderers were involved
in, and I can’t wait to hear more and look forward to what they do next!
LOVE THIS SHOW!
The combination of journalistic and psychological talents of Lauren and Dr. Jon Matthias presents fascinating insights into the mentally ill/criminal mind. I have even come to know my “hidden” motives for my own behaviours. I hope this podcast never ends.
Phenomenal - must listen for all adults
This podcast is currently focused on the Lori Vallow/Chad Daybell cases. Lauren, an accomplished journalist, guides the discussion with her husband, Dr. John, a forensic psychologist, in a way that flows naturally. The psychological expertise that Dr. John possesses is impressive. What I love about this podcast, though, is that Dr. John offers his expertise without jargon (alternately, jargon is clearly explained). There is information that can be applied to anybody. Not only will you be better informed regarding one of the most trending and heinous cases, you’ll extract information that inspires strong inspection.
