I am a professional scientist, but in my spare time I read history books and I review them. I am mainly working through Gibbon's Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire at the moment, but will slip in a few other titbits from time to time. I normally get a show out every Thursday.

Very, very pleased to have Colin back again. Have enjoyed his in-depth review of Gibbons' "Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire" since 2011 and missed the podcast during the first half of 2013. Read history at uni many years ago but my degree focused on Canada's past and truly value the insights provided into the ancient world of the Romans and now the Byzantines. Keep up the good work!
It is great to listen to Colin Sander's precis of Gibbons. A clear thinker who enjoys his subject, I have enjoyed every episode so far. Keep them coming!
