The Irony

You’d think the country’s largest media market would have the very best talent covering its beloved national game.

Instead, we have the big two networks featuring some of the least likeable hosts, and pundits, in the industry.

On one, you have a complete homer starring alongside B-level talent. On another, a group of self-appointed experts who are often insufferable to listen to.

In Sportsnet’s case, this show has gone downhill from its flagship days featuring the likes of Millard, Kypreos and Maclean. A trio who, despite not agreeing with everything they had to say, had personality.

The current lineup featuring Marek and Bourne are akin to nails on a chalkboard, for me. It’s always a matter of when, not if, that I’ll make a decision to change the channel, whenever Marek is hosting the show.

Bourne always sounds like it’s his first day on the job. Continually mispronouncing names, or crafting ridiculous questions.

Get rid of Marek and Bourne. Get David Amber to host more. Get a co-host with a personality and resume that warrants listening to their opinions.

Being the former video guy for the Marlies, shouldn’t be enough.

The media covering the Raptors, are fantastic. The media covering the Jays, are fantastic. And yet for hockey and the Leafs, we get these clowns

Blaming the victim

Can’t believe that Marek actually said that he is not teaching his kids to act around the net like Jake Evans. I’m done.
