HOLLY LARSON; Competing in a Hookah Lounge, Love of Travel, Parenting & Prepping, Focus on Health Confessions of a Bikini Pro

    • Fitness

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Holly Larsen, a 51-year-old mother who didn’t start competing until she was 48. She started her lifestyle coaching business when she experienced a layoff during COVID. Holly loves the lifestyle and journey to getting on stage but has had to work extra hard to overcome her discomfort being on stage. She found bodybuilding when she went to a women’s retreat and set the goal to get into the best shape of her life. Someone in her group suggested a bikini show and she ran with it! She thought she would be “one-and-done”, but she missed having a reason to train and eat well. That’s when she decided to start working with Team Elite Physique again.

Holly and Celeste share stories about competing during COVID and the lengths promoters and the NPC and IFBB went to make the experience the best they could for competitors. Because there are no Pro Masters shows in Colorado where she lives, she decided to make her Pro debut at the Puerto Rico Pro, which was held in the Bahamas. She got section place at her Pro debut and was really happy because it gave her things to work on and room to grow.

As a Master’s athlete, she doesn’t compete in the Open classes because she wants to win as a Master first. She hopes to still be competing into her fifties! She loves the lifestyle and how she can set a good example for her teenage children.

Holly share so much about her story. Give the episode a listen!
