I am a student of language and literature. I have been reading, writing, and studying for most of my life. I received a B.A. in English from Fresno State and then went on to receive an M.A. and Ph.D. in English at Indiana University. I am interested in literature, philosophy, history and gardening. For the last 16 years, I have been a teacher at Peninsula College and, when not working, reading, or writing, spend much of my time in my garden.

a gift
I’ve been listening to these lectures for about a year now— whilst driving, going to bed, studying, passing time, so on. I love Wes Cecil’s way with words and the way he puts his ideas out there. He presents information in a way that’s very accessible and comprehendible and I really admire that. I’ve learnt so much from listening to these, thank you for all you do.
Fabulous
Just stumbled upon the Humane Arts while researching for a paper on the state of modern education. So happy I did. Cecil is very intelligent. He's also very funny. He speaks in easy to understand terms, has wit and charisma. I look forward to exploring his entire catalogue. Thank you.
