Well argued monologues

Iain’s podcast is based primarily around well argued monologues or essays. It’s not often an interview podcast. When he has done interviews the sound has been wonky.

I’ve learned tremendously by stumbling on this podcast early in my martial journey. It’s been like having a sober second sensei. Like a martial arts senate to think through what I am learning in my training. Would recommend to anyone as the podcast to listen to if you want to understand the context of your training and be an independent scholar of the martial arts.

A voice of reason and clarity

Iain's podcast, the practical application of Karate tells you the flat and bareheaded truth about martial arts, karate and encourages those looking to begin a program to do so. He tackles topics that cut through the fluff to get to the heart of the matter, gives his own opinion and backs it up with weighty personal evidence and promotes the positive side of self protection, not defense. Starting up traditional arts as a 45 year old man, finding his podcast has been a great motivator and resource. Wonderful, a big fan of his. All the best to him.

Well Spoken, Well Researched

Iain's podcasts are awesome! For anyone interested in the practical applications of traditional Karate and how they can not only be utilized but also evolve in a modern context, these podcasts are both highly informative and also entertaining. Iain speaks well and knows his stuff; can't recommend these enough!
