The HFPA has announced some eligibility changes for future Golden Globes. The Best Picture categories now include animation and non-English language films (following The Farewell and Minari controversies) and the Foreign Language category is now called Non-English Language Film.

The Directors Guild of America have announced films released after June 15, 2021 must have an exclusive 7-day theatrical run before arriving on other platforms to be eligible for their awards, disqualifying Dune, Cry Macho, and any other day-and-date release.
