It's Halloween! And that means JoJo Seames and Andrew Ihla are here once again, to talk about James Whale's 1933 classic The Invisible Man, based on the H.G. Wells novel and starring Claude Rains. A much-needed dose of positivity
A lot of online culture seems to traffic on negativity and garnering clicks off of people's rage, so it's refreshing to hear a show based around the premise that sincerely enjoying things is cool. Basically, the idea here is that each epsiode will feature the host and a guest/guests talking about a piece of pop culture which they particularly enjoy, discussing how they came across that thing and what makes it great. The topic can be as broad as the body of work of an entire artist, franchise, or pop cultural phenomenon, or focusing on something more specific like a movie. As someone who enjoys hearing people talk about things they love and seeing works of art dissected to find out what makes them work, this is exactly my kind of show even when it's talking about things I'm not personally familiar with.
And as one guest mentions, the host does indeed have an excellent radio voice.
Elle Collins is critical, but kind.
