This is mildly amusing banter at its mild amusing best! We’re Jono Pryor and Ben Boyce, two best mates who started their work marriage a decade ago in a quest to become a hotter kiwi duo than a mince and cheese in a scalding service station pie! While we aren't there yet, you can catch us weekdays on The Hits breakfast to talk about our life misadventures, big interviews, fun games and plenty of LOLs. OK, we can’t promise LOLs but hopefully you stopped reading after we said LOLs the first time.
March 04 - What Is The Quickest Time You've Gone From Meeting Someone, To Moving In With Them?
Hello! Today we discussed the story of an English lady who went on holiday, met a French man, and 3 days later decided to pack up her life and live with him in a van. VERY DRASTIC, but it's worked out for them, as they are now happily married! We were sure nobody could beat 3 days from meeting to moving in, but we had some incredible stories from you guys about how quickly you moved in with your partner. We also tried out a new game called THE GOOGLE GAMES. We thought it would be an absolute flop, but we were very pleasantly surprised! Iconic Kiwi singer Neil Finn also joined us, and finally, Ben has informed us that his photo app is filled with absolute junk, but there's a reason why!
March 03 - Can You Steal A Friends Baby Name?
Kia Ora! This morning, Jono proved that there are people worse at using technology than him. And trust us, Jono is an absolute BOOMER (sorry to the Boomers out there) when it comes to replying to texts and emails. We also chatted about the fact that Prince Harry used a stranger's bathroom when he went to their house. So, we did a wee (pun intended) social experiment. If Prince Harry can use a randoms bathroom, can we? We also wanted to know whether it's acceptable to use a friend's baby name on your own child, and whether this has happened to anyone out there. Such an awkward situation! All that and more on today's poddy!
March 02 - Has A Celebrity Ever Stared You In The eyes?
Kia Ora & welcome to today's podcast! Producer Juliet shared a story about how she managed to have a conversation with Justin Timberlake in the middle of his concert about 7 years ago, where she was basically demanding he give her his towel! Crazy millennial! So, we wanted to know if something similar has happened to you, or whether a celebrity has ever stared you in the eyes. Some good stories came through! We also caught up with the Bachelorette Lexie Brown and her winning boyfriend Hamish after the final episode aired last night. Finally, we had recording producer on, Brian Malouf, who has produced songs & albums for Michael Jackson, Queen, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. Super interesting guy. Enjoy the pod!
March 01 - Can We Handle HOT HOT CHILLIES?
Ah another change in Alert levels here in NZ! Hope everyone is coping ok. Today we caught up with Dr Siouxsie Wiles on the latest outbreak and what we can expect moving forward. On the weekend we had to eat some of the hottest chillies (lord help us, still struggling) and we wanted to know whether anyone else has ever eaten crazy foods like that. Ben also went to a friend's house for some family drinks on Saturday night (pre changes in alert levels), but he got completely lost on the way there and ended up making a bit of a fool out of himself...! Enjoy the poddy, stay safe and stay sanitised!
February 26 - Stories Of Survival
Hello! Today we discussed stories of survival, or why you shouldn't be alive. Actress Ashley Judd had a massive ordeal in Africa where she was in the middle of a jungle at night-time, fell over a fallen tree, broke her leg in 4 places and was left with nerve damage. After 4 flights back to America and an 8-hour surgery, she's recovering, but it was a very close call. So we wanted to hear whether you guys had been in a situation where you perhaps could have died but didn't! This was super interesting. On a slightly lighter note, Jono had a bit of a situation in the bathroom yesterday... He dropped something in the loo that he shouldn't have. We were also joined by professional boxer Joseph Parker ahead of his fight against Junior Fa this weekend, and we found out what it's like to go against someone in the ring who you actually really like. Enjoy!
February 25 - Mums Are Joining Only Fans!
Today there was some gossip in the school grounds... A mother has made an Only Fans account, and everybody is talking about it. Should she get off Only Fans for her childrens' sake? (If you don't know what Only Fans is, it's a platform where people pay to see *raunchy* content, so in this case, people would pay the mother to see her pictures...) So we discuss Only Fans, and then we debated whether eggs should be kept in the fridge or pantry. Too VERY important topics, obviously. Jono also discussed the thrill of driving his stressed boomer parents around when the petrol light is on. Finally, we had social media superstar William Waiirua on the show, he even joined in for the Celebrity edition of 5 Words for 5K!
