Keeping Burnout at Bay with Natasha Dewhirst Tips for the Transition | The Career Roadmap

    • Careers

Burnout. We hear this term a lot as it relates to work. In fact, it has been added to the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases. And the term is used to describe an occupational phenomenon. It’s not classified as a medical condition—but it feels like one.
Burnout is defined as a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that hasn’t been successfully managed. When someone suffers from exhaustion or depleted energy, an overall negative outlook feels distanced from their job, and feels less effective at work, they are often diagnosed with burnout.
We talk about burnout with Natasha Dewhirst in this episode. You’ll learn why it’s so common, who’s at more risk, and how to help ourselves or someone else who’s on the verge of burnout.
