05/06/24: A jury found ND Rep. Jason Dockter guilty of violating a conflict-of-interest law after a 10-hour trial on Friday. The case regarded Rep. Jason Dockter’s involvement in the lease of a Bismarck building to Attorney General Stenehjem's Office and the North Dakota Department of Health and his subsequent votes on agency budgets. The jury took about 90 minutes to deliberate after hearing several hours of testimony from state officials.

05/06/24: The current McLean County State's Attorney is Ladd R Erickson of Washburn. He was first elected to the four year position in 2002 and was re-elected in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. State’s Attorney Erickson charged Rep. Jason Dockter, a Bismarck Republican, in December with a crime alleging the lawmaker broke a state law for voting on legislation he had a financial interest in. On Friday, a jury found Dockter guilty of the misdemeanor charge.

05/03/24: Shelly Carlson is the Mayor of Moorhead and current Metro Flood Diversion Authority Board Chair. She joins Joel for the first time after the sudden resignation of Joel Paulsen in April and tells the side of the Board.

05/03/24: Joel Heitkamp is joined in the KFGO studio by Merrill Piepkorn to get an update on his campaign for Governor of North Dakota. Merrill Piepkorn has been serving in the North Dakota Senate representing Fargo District 44 since 2017. He has the Dem-NPL endorsement for his campaign. He takes calls from the KFGO studio, and shares his take on everything from property taxes to childcare.

05/02/24: Pat Finken is the former CEO of Odney and manager for (at the time) Congressman Kevin Cramer's U.S. Senate campaign. He works with Brighter Future Alliance now and helped with negative ads towards Rick Becker in his congressional race. He calls in to "News and Views" to tell Joel his side after Becker talked poorly about him in an earlier interview.
