When I started podcasting in 2009 it was a telephone line now I have simply upgraded to a computer Audio Technia Mic USB (Link in the show notes) headphones (Any will do) a quiet space and an audio recorder (Zoom and Adobe Audition will get into that a little later)

Recording Software, ZenCastr, Zoom, Skype.

Start simple, learn how to use the equipment test the devices in different environments do fake interviews with friends learn how to edit, and play around with the settings in the programs.

Show notes are short conversational descriptions of your podcast that should include some keywords when you write it for SEO purposes.
