    • Religion & Spirituality

Welcome to Madang.

Madang is the outdoor living room of the world. Here, we invite you to sit and tune into unreserved, remarkable conversations with renowned authors, leaders, public figures, and scholars on religion, culture, and everything in between.

Here in the 8th episode of Madang, I talk with pastor and activist Melissa Florer-Bixler. Florer-Bixler is the pastor of Raleigh Mennonite Church, and a graduate of Duke University and Princeton Theological Seminary. She is chair of L’Arche North Carolina and a steering committee member in broad-based organizing in her county. She writes for Sojourners, Faith and Leadership and Anabaptist Vision.

She is the author of 2 books, the latest How to Have an Enemy (Herald Press, 2021). She has an active online presence and can be found on most social networks via @MelissaFloBix.  In this episode we talk about L’Arche North Carolina, anti-Black racism, defunding the police, holy anger, Mary the first priest, Whiteness, White Supremacy and more.

I am thrilled to announce that Madang podcast is now hosted the Christian Century . Please visit their website for the latest Madang podcast as well as current articles on Christianity, culture and society. I have written several pieces for them. https://www.christiancentury.org/madang
