Lord Avedon is not in a giving mood, however. This is the story of Arames Kragen and his attempt not only to discover who killed Gretta Platt, but also to uncover the truth about a town that apparently has more secrets than inhabitants. The Land of Caern: It is a world where the gods, the Children of Az, can choose to be born as mortals to directly affect events in the world, and often do. It is a world where the Priests of Caern frantically search for the mortal incarnations of any of the Children, in order prevent the Prophecies of Iberian from coming to pass.Welcome to The Land of Caern. Murder at avedon hill
I am hoping there are more stories featuring the two main characters as they continue on their journey, loved the story, it grabbed you and held on right to the end.
Narrator not for me.
I really wanted to like this, because the story seems very engaging. My problem is the narrator. Although his dramatic delivery is good, I struggled because I find his voice extremely nasal. Sadly, his diction is also poor, and the lack of clear consonants make it like listening to somebody mumbling. Sadly, it was a dealbreaker for me.
An entertaining blend of Fantasy and Mystery
Murder at Avedon Hill is an enthralling fantasy/murder mystery complete with vampires, werewolves, magic and mortally incarnate gods. But there are far more mysteries in Avedon Hill than the murder itself and Mr. Holyfield offers a variety of false hopes that you’ve figured out who the killer is only to wreck those hopes by throwing out more clues to lead you in different directions. It’s a fun story combining a near full cast (he keeps several characters for himself –only fair since it’s his book) with extremely well mixed sound effects and music.
