We also talk about mutual abuse and reactive abuse, about whether narcissists are conscious that they are narcissists, and about the dark tetrad of psychopathy, sadism, narcissism and machiavellianism. Dr Elinor Greenberg talks about narcissism - Part 4
In the final episode of this mini series with Dr Elinor Greenburg, Dr Supriya McKenna and Karin Walker ask Elinor whether it is possible to 'cure' a narcissist. She explains which specific type of narcissist is able to respond to this type of therapy, and the strict boundaries and rules she enforces when working with them. They discuss the concept of neuroplasticity and how treating narcissist involves breaking old autopilots and creating new ones. Elinor explains what drew to her working in this field, and they discuss depression in narcissists, and how the "Nobel Prize narcissists' rarely fall into depressions ('or narcissistic collapses').
