ODD EVEN PRESENTS 031 | Eddie Hale

ODD EVEN PRESENTS 031 | Eddie Hale

Eddie Hale began exploring electronic music in 2003. Embodied in a heritage of classical to contemporary music, it wasn’t until he engaged in seminal records like Nightmares on Wax – Smoker’s Delight and Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works that the electronic spark was ignited. Eddie was immediately influenced by the cutting-edge 90’s and early 00’s Detroit legacy, followed by a move to Berlin, which, as he recalls “had a big impact on me through the freedom experienced there, but also the heavy ‘Berlin luft’ atmosphere, which I found really moving.”

2008 saw the start of Eddie’s DJ career; as he cut his teeth with house and electro in home town Melbourne. Reflecting on this period, he acknowledges, “those early days really cemented my love for it, being given the opportunity to perform at iconic Australian festivals like Strawberry Fields and Rainbow Serpent.” 2014 saw Eddie travel across the globe to display his hard work in Amsterdam at ADE, a set at Mardi Gras 2017 in Sydney, followed by a 2019 trip to Berlin’s notorious Tresor.

His productions consist of rich, swirling, synthesised chords; raw drum patterns and deep grooves. The Eddie Hale sound is soulful, futuristic and full of energy - filled by techno, breaks and ambience. This versatility, coupled with sound production prowess has inevitably led him to collaborations, projects and releases with some of the finest artists and labels from Berlin to Detroit. Notable mentions include 2015 EP’s on Flash Recordings, and DJ300’s Motech followed by acclaimed cuts on respected imprints Intacto Records and Kevin Saunderson’s classic KMS. More recently, mid2019 saw ‘Ritus’, an alias between Eddie and Ray Kajioka on Swedish label Parabel.

2020 will play base for new material on ODD/ EVEN, Andre Kronert’s bespoke vinyl label, with a remix by Jon Hester included. Subsequent to this comes the launch of record label ‘Denude’ a new special project by Eddie, consisting of vinyl releases, supported by remixes from Joel Mull and TWR72.

ODD EVEN PRESENTS 027 | Flug

ODD EVEN PRESENTS 027 | Flug

Flug, as his name suggests, allows his audience to take a trip back to their roots, back to their inner self and what it is to really feel techno. In venues such as, Space Ibiza, Suicide Circus Berlin, Rex Paris, Razzmatazz Barcelona, Hyte Amsterdam, or festival as DGTL, Nature One , MAYDAY, to name a few, the Argentinian´s definition of techno has been clearly demonstrated not only through his DJ sets that are as devastating as they are uplifting with his serious kick drums, use of hi-hats and reverberating basslines, but also through driving his own organically produced techno forward with an EP released on Chris Liebing imprint CLR - 'Sincrodestino', remixes for SOMA - Slam Reverse Proceed Remixes, his recently releases on Jam, Sam Paganini’s label and Spanish best seller label Suara only to scratch the surface, cutting his industrially chizzled sound with melodical rythms both elegant and almost eloquent in nature.

His album ‘In Safe Hidding’ released on mid 2016 on the german label Nachtstrom Schallplatten by far his most personal and reflective piece of work, as it is, in his words, "statement of freedom” was acclaimed by the press, Mixmag Germany album of the month, and rated with a 10/10.

His music is now recognized and played worldwide having artists such as, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, Sam Paganini, Amelie Lens, Len Faki, Dave Clark, Ben Sims, Speedy J, DVS1, Joseph Capriatti, among many others, as supporters of his work. Flug´s unrivaled and brutal self-discipline in the studio, his humbleness in approach, his fierce passion for and overall dedication to the cause, as well as having grown up living and breathing electronic music, have given Flug, real name Sebastian, a long and welcoming insight into what it really means to be a DJ and producer in today's techno world, which in his opinion, means keeping it real.

Having a solid carrer in what he truly loves, Flug announces the start of his own record label called Rawcuts Musik later this year.

ODD EVEN PRESENTS 026 | Fabrizio Rat

ODD EVEN PRESENTS 026 | Fabrizio Rat

One hour masterpiece from the human machine Fabrizio Rat. He combines the acoustic sounds and weird harmonics of his prepared piano with the powerful soundscape of techno music. Unsurprisingly, it’s in front of the dancefloor, in clubs or festivals, that Fabrizio plays his live sets. With the right hand he plays repetitive rhythmical patterns while the left one handles the machines (effects, TB-303, TR-8) and manipulates the piano strings.
His goal is to reach the trance, to project on the dancers the hypnotic state of my right hand moving on the piano.
