Ep. 6: Baby Steps
Just after Christmas 2019, Jen and Neil deal with more bad news. While trying to decide on their next step forward, the unspeakable happens: a pandemic brings the world to a screeching halt. Jen’s biological clock ticks louder than ever, as they wait for the fertility clinics to re-open.

Such a thoughtful and beautiful podcast
I heard the first episodes of this podcast on CBC radio after The Current and was hooked. It is so beautifully made. I was already near tears at the end of the last regular episode but I couldn’t hold them back when I heard the dedication at the end.
Such an important listen
I was moved to tears many times. The narrative is filled with hope, despair, joy, yearning. Masterful storytelling of such an important topic that is affecting so many. This is for everyone who has experienced fertility issues as well as everyone who hasn’t - because, as they say, we all know someone who is dealing with or affected by infertility. I also loved the punctuations of humor…had me rooting for the couple the entire time.
Heart-Breaking Ending for Majority in “one in six”
Yes, it is great to get fertility stories out there.
But the truth is, they mostly do NOT end well, and when they do, it only publicizes and promotes the Fantasy for corporate money-making factories that are “Fertility Clinics”.
Please try to deal with REAL LIFE, with what happens for those who go through the brutality without a cooing baby at the end, and show whether those couples conclude with “I love you”s or NOT!
