Ostara and the Celebration of Spring Witchy Mamas

Ostara is a Neo-Pagan Sabbat the celebrates the start of spring, or the Spring Equinox, which falls on March 20th this year.



Ostara gets its name from the Goddess Eostre, the Goddess of Spring and Fertility. Her name also sounds a lot like Easter which typically falls within a few weeks of Ostara.



During the winter solstice the sun is reborn, while during Ostara the earth is reborn.
