My guest today is a stand-up comedian and podcaster.
In 2014 he was crowned the Winner of Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a Day Job.
The following year, he became a regional finalist for SiriusXM Canada’s Top Comic contest, hosted two sold-out shows for the Oddblock comedy festival (a show, by the way, that became a tradition at the festival in the years that followed).
That same year he also performed at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre and was named Winnipeg’s Favourite Local Comedian by The Uniter.
Today, he’s a regular host and headliner at Rumors Comedy Club in Winnipeg
He’s performed regularly at The Winnipeg Comedy Fest, even performing on the Fish Out of Water Gala with Ryan Belleville, Derek Edwards and Rebecca Kohler.
He’s headlined sold-out comedy showcases at the Park Theatre. He’s been seen and heard on CBC and Sirius XM.
He’s got a weekly podcast called, Prairie Dumpster.
And he was featured on the 2022 Just For Laughs Originals Album, entitled Zero Peripheral Vision. Also, on a very cool side note, the album was named after one of his jokes.
And if that wasn’t enough, last year he got a degree in philosophy.

My guest today has been levelling audiences in comedy clubs and theatres for 30 years.
He’s highly respected by audiences and critics and once you experience him live, Its not very hard to see why.
After studying to be an actor and a playwright, he stumbled into stand-up and relentlessly started taking the scene by storm.
He’s got a Comedy Now special, multiple episodes of the Ha!ifax Comedy Festival, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and 7 appearances at Just For Laughs. One of his appearances was so good he was named Best of The Fest and won a Canadian Comedy Award for it! And one reviewer from the Montreal gazette said, “Remember this name: Tim Nutt. The shaggy-haired and bearded Vancouverite was the standout comic in a very strong line up. Where have they been hiding this dude?”
He’s not just confined to Canada. He’s performed all over the world, including Kandahar, The Edinburgh Comedy Festival, The Detroit International Comedy Festival and so many more.
He’s a veteran of the Canadian Comedy scene and I’ve personally seen him perform many times, and I have to say, there’s not a lot of people in this country who kills like he does.

My guest today is a stand-up comedian who has been a semi-finalist in Sirius XM’s NEXT TOP COMIC competition on THREE separate occasions!
In 2011 he became the co-host of the SHAW TV late night talk show, Week Thus Far which ran for 8 seasons.
The very next year he was the winner of Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a day job, a highly coveted title in the province. A couple years after that he became one of the hand picked few who were asked to regularly host at Rumors Restaurant and Comedy Club.
After that, he started performing stand-up comedy all over Canada and several countries overseas in both English and French. Including, The Comedy Nest in Montreal and the Absolute Comedy Club chain in Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston.
He’s been featured on CBC’s Laugh Out Loud and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
He created and hosted several comedy rooms that helped showcase talent and foster the careers of countless comedians.
He’s showcased for Just For Laughs, and performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Oddblock Comedy Festival.
Comedian and comedy producer, Mike Green had this to say about him, “Ball coach has a style where if he’s in full flow and the crowd buys in to the character, he is literally unbeatable. There’s just so many layers and tags on every joke.”

My guest today is a stand-up comedian and actor.
After becoming a finalist in Sirius XM’s Next Top Comic Competition ten years ago, he went on to playing comedy clubs, colleges and theatres all over North America including the internationally famous Massey Hall in Toronto.
Five years later, his killer set at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival went viral (with over 17 million views online) and things spiralled out of control from there. Almost immediately he was selected for the coveted New Faces Canada Showcase at Just For Laughs in 2019.
With appearances from MTV to CBC and working with the likes of Bob Saget, Burt Kreishcher, Charlie Murphy, Steve-O, Gerry Dee and more he continually establishes himself as one of the funniest guys in the biz.
You can hear him on CBC’s Laugh Out Loud and The Debaters or you can see one of his appearances on The Halifax Comedy Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival or check out his appearance on the Canadian Screen Award Nominated Show The Beaverton.
His debut Album, EVERYTHING IS FINE was praised as quote “cutting without being cruel,…frustrated without being angry…one of those comics who says what you’ve been thinking, only better and more efficiently.”
As if that wasn’t enough In 2022 he appeared at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival on the Marc Maron televised gala with a blisteringly hilarious set that I had the privilege of seeing live.
    It's…ROB BEBENEK!

Solid

I have searched a few times in the past to find a podcast that had solid interviews of comedians. I was pleasantly surprised when this one popped up. Matt does a great job interviewing and it’s fund and interesting.

Funny, Interesting and Thoughtful

Not your normal comedy podcast. Ok much of it is but there’s also some “real” stuff, which is refreshing. Matt is a really great host and asks some thought-provoking questions. Worth a listen!
