Perfect Blue Film Fumblers

    • Film Reviews

In 1995, a tragic earthquake hit Japan and destroyed the movie studio that would have produced a live-action version of Perfect Blue. Production was stopped and funds were reallocated to create a shorter animated version of the film. Tragedy birthed one of the most original, influential, and most talked about anime films of all time. Satoshi Kon's brilliance inspired a generation of film makers and brought the world into the life of an IDOL. This was a fun (trippy) watch for us and really got us thinking about streamer/idol/celebrity culture that we see today.
Fumbler Score: 8.6/10
