Perry Bellegarde + the Political Panel with Jenni and Scott The Herle Burly

    • Politics

Welcome to another 2-part podcast on The Herle Burly.
For Part 1 today, we have Perry Bellegarde, National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. National Chief Bellegarde is originally from Little Black Bear First Nation and he’s brought his skill and focus on measurable progress to all levels of First Nations governance, over a more than 30 year career. He was first elected National Chief in 2014, was re-elected in 2018 and announced just last December that he would not seek re-election this summer. We’re going to talk about Indigenous issues and priorities in this country, what he achieved in the job, and what the agenda should be going forward.
Part 2 is our ever-lovin, ever-cussin’ Political Panel with Jenni Byrne and Scott Reid. The two of them have comms and strategy experience up the WAZOO ... except if they were describing it themselves, they would never use a word as gentle as WAZOO. Together, we’re going to try to untangle the governments new travel restrictions for Canadians. After that, we’ll continue our conversation on vaccines – specifically, this week – the lack thereof. We’ll talk about the PMO’s issues management problems with our Public Health Agency. Plus, Annamie Paul's all-in strategy for Ontario, #HEYYOU! and a few questions from our listener mailbag!
